Let me just start by saying: YUM! I'm not one to brag on myself (and all I did was follow a recipe so technically I'm bragging on it) but that stuff was goooood. And please ignore my gross stove-top. I'm a very messy cook, not only is my stove now covered in soy sauce but I dirtied nearly every dish we own.
I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food, however when I came across these 3 recipes on pinterest I knew I liked all of those dishes so I wanted to give them a try. Warning: it is a little time consuming. Along with being a messy cook I'm also a slow one. It took me nearly 3 hours start to finish. That is embarrassing but true.
I was most excited about the egg rolls because they are my favorite Chinese specialty but spoiler alert: they weren't that great. The chicken by far stole the show and I loved the rice but the egg rolls were just so-so. Therefore next time I will save myself an hour and skip the egg rolls. If you try nothing else try the chicken recipe, I was so pleasantly surprised. I will never order sweet and sour chicken from the Chinese place here again, this recipe is just too yummy!

I don't mean to bad-mouth the egg rolls, I think the problem with mine was the kind of egg roll wrap I bought, I didn't like it's consistency. So give it a try the recipe is good but the wraps I bought were bad.
I'm in the process of reading Malcolm X and he talks often about Billie Holiday so I had her on my mind. And of course who doesn't know this from the Notebook?
