Oh sweet Virginia. Yes, I realize in DC I'm literally moments from the Lover state but it wasn't close enough. As I gained more courage I definitely enjoyed DC and I look forward to going back to do all of the touristy things I didn't take time to do. At times and even still now I think I would enjoy living there for a bit. A year or two, maybe? We shall see, one never knows what the future holds.
As for the foreseeable future I will be beginning grad school at Radford University in August. It isn't exactly what I had planned but it isn't really up to me is it? God knows what he's doing and to be honest I'm relieved with the way things turned out. Tech is a little large for my taste. I think Radford will be more my style. I'm so excited to be back in the classroom.
As soon as I got back home I was beyond ready to get summer started the right way. Therefore we spent the biggest part of our long weekend on the New River. It was so nice and I am ready to go back there this weekend. I hope the weather permits and we can camp there all weekend. I was able to read, tan, fish and even took Ike tubing down the river. The only thing I didn't care for was standing in the middle of the river while fishing and watching a snake swim by.....that part I didn't like.
Things I'm excited for this summer:
Weekends on the river
Cruise to the Bahamas
A concert or two
Relay for Life
Getting food from our garden
Midnight showings of Batman and Rock of Ages
Spending extended time with all of my teacher friends who have the summer off
Here are some pics from the River:
