We all seem to have gotten a bit hung up on other matters this week
I don't mean like your "daily walk with God." I mean walking through and remembering this week in Jesus' life 2000 years ago. Have you been sorrowful with him in the garden as the fulfillment of prophecy is looming?
I've been reading about Jesus' week all morning and it's given me time to reflect, pray, praise and be sorrowful. Today is the day of the Last Supper. I hope before you color your eggs that you consider taking communion, or washing the feet of your family. Or that you will read Scripture of each day in Jesus' week, watch the sunrise on Sunday or even watch The Passion of The Christ.
Those are all my suggestions but you may have your own traditions. I just hope you find some serious time
Let's have the last supper tonight with Him, mourn tomorrow as He suffers and rejoice on Sunday when He rises.
As Christians there are so many things in the world that we get "hung up" on. We like to sit back and hold on to our beautiful blue-eyed Jesus that is so soft and sweet. We sing praises to the white robed Lord who is coming again one day. But it is hard and uncomfortable to walk with the Man who was God. It is hard to imagine what God who wore flesh was afraid of. We do not want to imagine the pain and suffering and emotional agony that our Lord went through because it hurts too much. But if we do not acknowledge this we are selling ourselves short on how powerful the resurrection truly is. Thank you for this post, you stated all of these points so eloquently. You are a wonderful writer and I love reading your blog. And I love the C.S. Lewis quote.
