Men in the House

This week I have a house full of men, not boys. The usual 2 are here and my brother is staying with us this week. My baby brother has grown up. The conversations he and Drew have are impressive sometimes but most other times they are ridiculously silly. All the way home until he and I fell asleep we talked about less than superb teachers he'd had and what he didn't like about them as I took mental notes to not be that teacher.

We are heading to the Community Center in a bit and I suspect my days of beating him in basketball are over. He's officially taller than me now.
Drew has been tilling for 2 days straight. I suspect he won't be much count on the basketball courts because his arms are still vibrating. But oh I can't wait to plant seeds!!!

Ike got filthy digging in the fresh dirt of the garden so he had to have a bathtub and now according to Bryce he "smells like medicine."

I like having a full house. I'll be sad when Bryce is back home and Drew is back to work but I'm hoping to have plenty of company when it gets warmer. Namely a stubborn little baby girl that just won't make her arrival. I've even grown accustomed to the mess, so bring your mess and come visit, one and all!

Houseguest.

So this is what I looked at pretty much all week. When Bryce comes for a visit, I no longer have a TV. Instead I get to listen to him and his friends play war Call of Duty of Duty on XBOX live.

As I've told people in the past, Bryce is not a "self-soother," he requires a play-mate at all times. Which is why we had to go to the aquatic center:

A baseball game:

Oh and he insisted that I school him in basketball. He runs his mouth every year and says he's gonna beat me. Hasn't happened yet, never mind that I could not move the next day.

This is the face of someone who got his butt kicked at 1 on 1 by his 23 year old sister. And as a result got to stay and make 50 free throws.

This is the face of an awesome sister who was relieved that she still had it in her to ball it up.

We always love when Bryce comes to visit but we are always left wondering how much longer he will think it's cool to hang out with his sister and brother-in-law. I'm afraid we are on our way out. I guess my time will be up when he gets taller than me and kicks my butt at 1 on 1. He already thinks Drew is goofy so maybe he doesn't think we're cool now and just feels sorry for us. Oh well, I'll take a pity trip. He definitely doesn't come for my cooking (he's the pickiest eater I know).

I know one puppy dog who was sad to see him go.
