Day Three: Lampshade Writing

Well day three has proven to be the easiest and quickest so far. In fact I watched Paula Deen make meatloaf while I did it.

I had purchased this lampshade when I purchased the lamp but I will admit it was a little too dull. So this is what you're gonna need:

Also I had the song lyrics I used pulled up on my laptop as a reference. I started by measuring my lines I made them 1 inch and then made little marks all around the shade so that I didn't write up (or down) hill which I am bad for.

I don't know if you can see those lines, I can't, but you may have better eyes than me. Make the lines as far apart as you want depending on the length of your song and how big you write.

I began penciling the lyrics on and then tracing them but gave that up after the first line because I wasn't matching up. It's all pretty self explanatory from there (really from the beginning I didn't even find a tutorial because it's so simple).

This was the only problem I ran into, my little attention hog decided he wanted to play fetch about the time I sat down to start this project.

Other than that the only tip I can give is to not hold your marker in one place because it makes an ugly little mark. This was a little difficult for me because I normally print rather than write in cursive so I was hesitant and had a few mess-ups. However my guess is no one will ever notice because I seriously doubt anyone will ever sit down and read the entire lamp shade.

And there it is, I had a little extra space as you can see at the bottom so I wrote the song title, artist and year of release to fill up the last little bit of empty space. If you end up with more room and run out of lyrics I suggest just doing the chorus again or your favorite line. Use your favorite passage of scripture, wedding vows or like me a favorite song. And here's the song I used........

Get excited for day 4!
