DIY Painting

I'm not a painter. Nothing is scarier to me than a blank canvas and some paint. However I'm trying to take baby steps to conquer my fear. So I found a few easy ways to get started. I had been saving wine bottles up for a long time trying to figure out something creative to do with them, so for now I just settled for painting them.

I also recently saw a pin on pinterest (where all of my "original" ideas come from) of painted brass candle sticks. My cousin Holly and I used to make fun of people who would come to our yard sales and buy all of the ugly brass pieces (what we thought looked like urns). But now I'm thinking maybe we should have hung onto them.  A whole big $1.98 at the YMCA thrift store.
