Day 11: Cutesie Bookmarks

I'm updating today from the top of a very comfy bed. This is a no-brainer diy but I didn't want to be bogged down by something complicated while on a mini-vaca. But this one is fun and cute, very girly (so unlike me).

In my opinion, you can never have too many book marks. These are handy to keep by your bedside, on an end table or in your Bible to have a handy little page marker.

I got the ribbon and paper clips for a total of  $4 at Target. I tried to come up with some more neutral colored ribbon so that I could make some for by husband, dad and brother but had no luck. I suppose they can just use the recycled book pages.

Double up your little piece of ribbon:

Then loop it through the large end of the paper clip....for some reason it took me about 10 minutes to figure this out so that's why I'm being sure to explain in detail to you. However, you all probably have more sense than I do.

Then just make your little knot and voila!

I am partial to the recycled book page bookmarks but I like these too. I could make about 100 of them in 5 minutes, that's why they're so appealing.

I think this is the perfect use for them, a great way to mark passages you want to be able to get to quickly.

Enjoy!

  2. These are super cute - gonna have to make a few when I get some downtime! Maybe if you don't want them to look as 'girly' you could use the metal ones and some more 'gender-neutral' colors (but the metal ones might rip the pages, and you said you couldn't find any - not surprising since most guys don't have much need for ribbon..haha)...keep up the crafting! I'm impressed you've taken it on the road - that's dedication!
